Ambrose's Diaries - Blog Entry #5

Mom's in a bad mood, so I'd better stay out of her way.

I'd better give you the full story here to avoid confusion....

She decided to save some money and try to fix my computer.
But that was just the start of her problems.

Luckily, she didn't get zapped like me, but it threw up some nasty sparks, none the less.

On top of that, whilst Dad & I were at work, she decided to cook up some chilli. (Well, I think, it was chilli)

And promptly set the stove on fire. Luckily for her (and us) with her quick thinking, she managed to put it out. (She was busy trying to turn back the clock by colouring her hair and forgot about the dinner cooking, but don't tell her I know that)

We got home to find a salad waiting for us and a long-lingering charred smell that poor Mom spent all afternoon trying to get rid of.

Oh dear.

Dad and I never said a thing when dinner was served. The grim expression on Mom's face was enough.

She's not very good with gardening either. With all the hours she works, and all the skilling time she puts in, sadly the garden was badly neglected.

I guess Dad & I weren't much help either. We don't seem to have 'green thumbs'. With my heavy clumpy feet treading about, I shouldn't wonder.

Oh well.

But that's not why I'm here. I have something else I have to share with you.

It's Winter here, and often the roads through to Riverblossom get blocked and the telephone lines go down with the weight of the snow on the cables.

When that happens, I lose contact with Kitty and I can't share anything with her. And I always feel bad, as she's stuck in the city, wondering about me. (well, that's what she keeps telling me anyway, but I know she's got plenty of friends)

Well, luckily for us, the snowstorm wasn't so bad this time and Kitty managed to come over to share our homework.

I'm not sure if it was the chill in the air.....

.... or the wolf at the front door making a terrible ruckus......
(I hate that animal, it's just so annoying, what it's doing here I really don't know)
It's always barking at our door, begging for scraps and stuff.

.... or the sharp, clear night.

Kitty was a bit miserable and needed cheering up. So I invited her over and we got chatting.

I held her hands and stuff like that (I learned that girls like that, well, Kitty does) and it made her smile. I like to see Kitty smiling anyway.

The evening was cloudless and decidedly chilly, but I could see that Kitty was shivering with the cold, so I gave her a hug.

It sounds really weird, but it felt just so right, hugging her close like that.

Well, I really don't know what happened after that, just that I suddenly wanted the urge to kiss her. Just to see what it was like.

Girls like kissing (or so I've been told, I've sneaked a peek at a couple of Mom's romance novels).
All I can say is....

.....EWWWWW.......

All that drivel about the 'passion driven in his loins, that made her bosom heave with perspiration'....

...... where do these writers come up with stuff like that???

Anyway, I'm going off track here.
I leaned across and pressed my lips to hers, expecting some major miracle.

..... and......

It felt weird, standing outside, near the mailbox, but oh well. Guess it's as good a place as any.

It was 'wet' and a bit 'sloppy', Kitty's lips were cold from the frosty night, but it made her smile even more. I swear she even went brick red too.

I think it was the cold night air really. It was a bit chilly that night.

And that made me happy.

We're 'going steady' now.

That should make Mom happy. She knows Kitty very well anyway.
At least she won't be screening all the other girls in my life.
And bringing out that dreaded baby album every single time!!

Thought I'd share that with you guys.

I'd better go now, get some more practice on the barre.
I have a feeling that I'll up for a promotion pretty soon at work.

Can't wait.

I see you're all wondering about Kitty?
Oh, she's coming over later to share our homework.

Honestly.

Hey, what do you lot take me for? I share a house with Mom and Dad, doesn't that tell you something???

Logging off now

Ambrose's Diaries - Blog Entry #4

Shhh!!!! I've got a few spare minutes to update my blog, whilst Mom's not around.

After a few days of bed rest, I was so glad to get back to school. Mom was always fussing around me, making sure I was okay, making grandma's chicken soup (hello!!! Mom! I just got a little fried, that's all. I don't have the 'flu!)

Sheesh.

Anyway, enough about that, I have some really really great news to share with you all.

I got myself a job!!!!

Yep, that's right.

I was a little anxious about telling Mom that I wanted to be a ballet dancer.
I half expected her to explode or something.

But that didn't happen.

I'd been working on my latest Science homework, trying to get my head around pulsars and quasars, when she came into my room and we had a long chat.

When I told her that I wanted to be a ballet dancer, she did initially look slightly crestfallen, but nodded her head and accepted that that was my choice.

She's so keen to see me overachieve that she had a barre installed for me.

Now I want to make her so proud of me. I warm up almost every day now, just to get into shape.

I still find that my balance is off slightly, and my feet don't quite go where I want them to go, but I'll get there.

I still love to read about Science, but I really, really, have this top dream of being a ballet dancer.

There's a girl at school who wants the same thing too, and as soon as she found out that I have a barre, she invited herself over to warm up.

Cheeky.

But saying that, she's really graceful, with a cute little tushie.

EEEP, better not let Mom see me writing this or she'll flip!!!

She's already started 'screening' all the girls that come home with me.

No Mom, I don't think she's that interested in music.
Honestly, since she started her new job, she's well into interrogation.

I don't care what anyone says, Kitty will ALWAYS be my best friend.
She even sneaks over late at night, so that we can have a little bit of fun.
The best times have been winter times, when we'd just hug each other to keep warm.

Whoops, looks as though our holiday plans have been scrapped. With Mom's new job, she's finding it hard to get some vacation time in.

She works too hard.

Better get myself off to school now, don't want to miss the bus.

Bye Mom, bye Dad.

Catch up with you all later.

Bye
