Ambrose's Diaries - Blog Entry #13-the Sophomore Years - Part 3 Nature's Killing Me

Well, Virginia and I took things a little easy. After all, this is a big step for the two of us.
It was fun with Kitty, making all those big promises for the future. But that was it really...

... we were only young, with high ideals (and raging hormones to boot), what did we know about the 'real world'? Paying bills, getting a job, marrying (perhaps) and settling down with a family.

The very idea brought me sharply back to earth with a nasty bump.

If Virginia's the one to whom I shall be spending the rest of my life with, I've got to be absolutely certain that we're compatible, and that this isn't just a 'fun while it lasted' scenario.

So, in order to think things through clearly, I decided to take off on a couple of hikes.

Take stock of the situation... etc.

And then it happened....

.... twice....

I swear, Nature has it in for me.

I was attacked by another swarm of angry bees!!
And there the little devils followed me into the dorm.

Everyone looked on helplessly as I ran around screaming like a little girl (trust me, you'd scream that way too if you had a horde of angry bees dive-bombing you).

After spending yet another day in the infirmary (I'm getting very popular in there nowadays), recovering yet again from bee stings, I still couldn't work out what the right course of action was for Virginia and I.

Besides, I was in pain, and couldn't think properly anyway.

So, as I said earlier, we took things easily.

But I still couldn't get her out of my head.

With Kitty, it was different somehow. I really can't explain it, to be honest. She was fun, we had a few laughs, things got a little 'intensive' at times, but it was nothing we couldn't handle.

But Virginia is different. There's a genuine warmth to her. She's a little feisty, and extremely active. I've caught her a few times shooting hoops and doing her exercises and stuff.

Yes, I know, even in the chilly night air, she still looks hot in that pink leotard combo.

*sizzle*

I really don't think she's cut out to be an academic somehow.

I've seen her struggling along with her assignments. And her term paper on Literature was extremely difficult to say the least.

She's also struggling along with one of her skill requirements too, creativity. For me, I thoroughly enjoy daubing paint onto a canvas. But Virginia sees it as a chore somehow.

I think she's more 'family' oriented somehow, as that's what she mentions every now and then when we're together.

I'd help, but she flatly refuses, determined to get through it all.

But that's not the end of my misadventures with Nature.

No sirree.

Not by a long shot.

Spring has finally come around, and once again I had Virginia on my mind.
So I decided to take another walk.

This time I wasn't looking where I was going and ended up in poison ivy.

Boy did I end up scratching.

Even after a hot shower.

So, I've decided that Nature's just not my 'thing'. I'll stick to Science instead.
That's just about my forte.

Signing out for now.
