Training Helen, the Graystone Way

Coming home from work, Ambrose was pleased with himself. Especially how he handled that dire situation with the sick girl. He rushed home to find Ginny was a little preoccupied with Helen. Wide awake and full of beans, Ginny decided it was time for Helen to start walking and talking.

Ambrose felt a little put out, however, he didn't have much time to fret about it, as his phone rang. It was Shirley Lin, and she was seriously annoyed with him. Apparently, he'd been throwing all his dirty scrubs in a corner, leaving them for her to pick up. He protested that it wasn't him, he wouldn't do such a thing. That put a serious dent in their relationship. So his next mission now, was to seriously suck up to her. After all, they were working together, and it didn't look professional if they were seen bickering and at each other's throats.

"Listen, Shirley, I'm sorry, okay, I'll make up for it tomorrow right? I promise."

So, whilst he was dealing with that sticky problem, Ginny had decided to go ahead with the training program of little Helen. With wobbly little legs, she stumbled along, the best way she could, gaining more momentum, every single time. Naturally, it was a slow process, but she got there eventually.

However, it was also exhausting for both mother and daughter. Especially now that Helen was up and about, and getting into everything. So, after putting Helen to bed Ginny decided to take a nap. That's when Ambrose took over.

Firstly, whilst answering an email, he popped Helen into the high chair and gave her some food. This way, he could keep a close eye on her just in case she choked or tried to climb out of the chair.

Then it was potty training time.

Because Ambrose assumed (incorrectly) that this was going to be a traumatic experience for his daughter, soon afterwards he played the old scary 'Claw' game. Yeah, now that is SOOO not scary... right???? :-P

Still not tired, (this kid is literally inexhaustible) whilst Ambrose took a quick nap (by now, Ginny was actually fast asleep, her nap had turned into a full day's sleep, she was that exhausted) Helen decided to amuse herself by firstly, admiring herself in the mirror.

Then sitting quietly playing with her teddy bear.

This went on for a little while until Ginny had woken up and decided that the only way to really tire out their overly active daughter....

.... was to take her for a stroll around the block.

And so began this daily routine.

The only thing needed to do now was to teach her how to talk.

However, Helen isn't all sweetness and adorable. She does have her rather 'ugly' side, as Ginny soon found out one day. She awoke feeling really hungry and her social meter was almost red.
It was a choice of food or talk to the kid.

So Ginny decided to feed her. And that's when the first of possibly many, tantrums came into action!!!
