Ambrose's Diaries - Blog Entry #15 - The Senior Years, part one

Greetings everyone. Just to let you know, this semester has been an action-packed one, full of interesting incidents (and perhaps a few dull and boring ones too, sorry about that).
But I have so much to tell you.

Obviously, I passed (once again, no big surprise there) my finals and made the Dean's list.
But, as graduation is now literally just around the corner, I've been giving my (well, our) future after college, a great deal of thought.

So, after squirrelling away all my college funds, I decided to start buying stuff for our new home (wherever that may be) and putting it into storage until the 'big move'. So far, between the two of us, Virginia and I have managed to pick out a few 'essentials', like a double bed, a love seat, a dining suite, cooker and refrigerator. (all the practical stuff we need anyway).

I was actually very surprised at how cheaply it cost for storage space, because as you know, us students are of a poorer clan.

It was whilst I was working on my final term paper that my thoughts began to stray towards the future too. And one thought did cross my mind.

Having a baby.

Considering that I'm mainly a Knowledge Sim, thoughts of family have been straying into my mind a lot (all thanks to that secondary aspiration I've had the pleasure of encountering).

Mom was good to me, and I only hope that I'd be a great dad too.
I know I'm often a little too intensive and serious at times. But I've figured out that I'd be great on the 'teaching' side of things (being a thirsty soul for knowledge and all).

Virginia, on the other hand, will be a fantastic mom. I've seen how fun loving, active and playful she is. How she gets on well with most folks.

She even managed to break through that iron clad barrier that Cleve keeps putting up. She's such a warm hearted person. I've seen the two of them playing water balloon fights in the dorm grounds and Cleve is really enjoying himself.

I feel sorry for Dorian though. I know I tend to target him a lot, but Virginia's cottened onto his gullibility and now she's starting to tease him too.

She's relentless.

Honestly.

Good job he's a good natured type of guy.

They get on well together actually.

He's also, believe it or not. My 'conscience' too.

He caught me 'spying' through the telescope one day and threw me the most disapproving glares I've ever seen, warning me that if I get caught, there'd be trouble.

I'm guessing he's been there, done that, and had the bruises to show for it.

But spying through the telescope is soo much fun. It's really bad, but good too (if you know what I mean). Mind you, prior experience has taught me never to mess with the cosmos. Even in broad daylight.

Thank goodness for 'recessive memories'.

Just when you thought it was safe to roam the corridors of the dorm, along comes trouble.
In the form of yet another Cow Mascot. This guy goes by the name of Berjes Fong.

He's even worse than Holden Tellerman.

Setting off the sprinklers constantly, trying to flirt outrageously with everyone, (myself and Virginia included).

That was a nerve wracking moment for myself and Virginia, as it's common knowledge that these Cow mascots are notorious for breaking up couples.

But I can breathe easily, as I was the first to rebuff this odious character.
He's just not my type somehow.

Virginia had an encounter with him, and more or less told him she wasn't interested. What made it worse was the fact that he'd accosted her in the ladies bathroom.

What a perv!!!

He's really mean too. Started picking on me, complaining that I'd 'poisoned' Virginia against his 'wily charms'.

That's a hopeless lie and I told him so. But he still shoved me. So I retaliated.

I'm not standing for all that bullying.

Besides, I've seen his face, and trust me, it's a face only a mother could love. So where he gets the idea that he's totally irresistible, is completely beyond me.

He even picked on Virginia, nearly breaking her nose with that concrete pillow of his.
And when she didn't bite, he started shoving her around too. But Ginny's a no-nonsense kind of gal and soon stood up to him. Coming to my defense too.

My god I love this woman, more than life itself. I am so glad she resisted that horrid cow mascot. She's got some 'staying power' there.
After all, of all those guys in college, she chose me. Plain, old, bookworm me.

And to prove our love, she immediately walked up to me and we kissed passionately.
With working out all the time, shooting hoops etc. she's pretty strong for a girl, nearly sweeping me off my feet.

It made me think a while though. Actually, it was an enforced situation that did it. Here I was, chatting online, when she caught me!!!

Curious?

That darned college coach. I swear she's got an in built radar system. She stormed straight into the dorm and once again, demanded that I 'drop and give her 50'. So, I decided to try out shooting hoops. I'm not very good, but it's one heck of a workout though. Got myself all toned up in no time.

I know.
Whoa, what a bod!!!!

Well, another bit of news to share with you.
Even though I did object strongly to mom wearing this funny lightbulb helmet contraption. I decided to be brave enough and try it out for myself.

And what do you know?

I maxed out my cleaning skills!!!!

Not only that, I helped Virginia with her Literature studies too. She's now in her Junior year and getting along pretty well.

Autumn (fall) had come along once again, and once again, the evenings were cutting in.
So, we decided to pool together our college funds and treated ourselves to a violin.

I'm not so sure about Virginia, I think with a little more practice, she'll make a fairly decent violinist.
But it's the joy of putting bow to string, and hearing the sweet, sweet melodies that issue forth, that does it for me.

I have to admit. Cleve has certainly overcome his shyness around Virginia, but I still suspect that he's 'batting for the other side'. As once or twice, as he's passed, he's wolf-whistled.....

.... at me!!!!!

Not only that, he's got some really odd behavioural patterns.

The startled expressions on his face.

The 'art hands', that still revealing ballet outfit.

The fact that he often hogs the bathroom, writing his assignments, making me do a really embarrassing 'bladder dance' outside until it becomes unbearable.

Yes, I've drawn the conclusion that Cleve is completely weird. There's no two ways about it.
And that's a fact.

Lila is yet another oddball of sorts. If she's not whistling inane little tunes.
At every given opportunity, she's playing with that puzzle ball of hers.

Oh well, whatever makes her happy, I suppose.

I can't help looking over at Virginia and getting that feeling of contentment.
Especially when she's had a long hard day in class and she's tired out.

I caught her asleep on that tattered old settee the other day.
She looked so sweet and content, it was a shame to wake her up.
So I left her there.

Also, she may not be good academically, but she's managed to acquire a place in the local gym club, for her athletic abilities.

Well done Ginny.

One thing's certain.
Once I graduate, I'll have all these happy (and sad) memories to cherish for a whole lifetime.
The friends I've made, the professors I've met. Skills I've achieved.

It's an entire learning process, from beginning to end.

Catch up with you soon. Have to prepare for my graduation, and write my speech.

Signing out

Ambrose.
