Hi Folks, Helen here, and a Brand New POV..... mine

Guess what?

I was looking through all the stuff here on the family computer (before Mom blew it up) and found my Dad's (this) blog.

It took me ages to read, and wow, he's certainly had a full life. The more I read it, the more I realised that he couldn't possibly leave it at that.

So, I've decided to take it on instead and let you all know how we are getting on.
He feels bad for leaving everyone dangling, but he and Mom are kinda busy at present with the babies.

Who knew that they were a fertile lot?

It meant that the house was getting a little too small and overcrowded, so I decided to leave for college a little earlier than planned.

It's not that I want to get out of the baby duties, just that I want to spread my wings a little. I've already earned quite a lot in scholarships, and well on my way towards my ultimate goal and lifetime want.... Adventurer.....

... more to the point......

Space Captain!!!!

I am so excited for that one.

It brought a lump to my throat when Dad saw me off and we stood there outside the dorm, all wistful and reminiscent (well, for dad anyway). He was a little put out because I didn't go to the dorm he was at, this one's much bigger. But still, with a fond farewell and a bone crushing hug, I was set on my way.

Onto a brand new life. Here at college. To make new friends (I am so nervous here) and graduate with honours and do my folks proud.

I haven't memorized their names yet, (even I'm not as clever as Dad there) but I'll get there eventually. Bu my dorm buddies are so cool.

Already, I'm making friends with loads of people from all walks of life and they're all so friendly. I settled into college life really easily. Although I think Dad's a little worried about me. I caught him sneaking back in to check on me.

He said he was only here for the mac and cheese, yeah right, where've I heard that one before? He seems to have forgotten it's a different dorm and a different cook. But he claims that it's all cooked the same way anyway.

O-kay dad, whatever you say.

I think he's still a little overwhelmed by all the babies and wanted some 'dad' time. I can't say I blame him, but poor Mom, thank goodness for the Nanny. I'll bet she's running ragged too.

He stayed a little while longer, chatting to everyone. I also think he's checking out the boys in here. Screening them the way grandma used to when he was a teen (oh yes, I read all about your adventures there dad). But I don't think he's got to worry just yet. I'm only finding my feet and stuff first.

I told him about the streaker, and he just grinned, saying it's a rite of passage for some poor frat boy. That colleges get them everywhere. Just a case of high jinks.

After a couple of obvious yawns and nodding over the empty bowls, I finally say goodnight to dad, and he clings onto me as if I'm about to blow away. I know, I'm his 'little girl' all grown now and going merrily on her way.

Still, it was nice to see him, even if it was still within 24 hours of me arriving here.

I've got some spare time before I get to class in the morning. Provided I have a restful night, (I'm really tired now, so that shouldn't be a problem) I'll make a start on brushing up my skills a little more.

So, without further ado, I shall bid you all a peaceful goodnight and see you all later.

Bye

P.S.

I've also decided to have a makeover too, thanks to one of my friends, she's a whiz with a pair of scissors and did me proud. I just hope Mom and Dad appreciate it.
