I'm a Dad

After the fiasco of the wedding, Ginny and I decided to settle into our new life together as man and wife.

I was still having little luck in finding my dream job in the Journalism career track, so I decided to stick with the Military for a little while longer.
If I was to get that next promotion, I really had to work on my body skills.
A lot.

Luckily for me, I was given the golden opportunity of having my very own training ground built into the back garden. So, clad in my extremely inappropriate soccer strip, I decided to run a few courses.

... in the thundery pouring rain....

Oh the pains and discomfort you have to go through, just to keep fit.
And to think, I had dreams of becoming a ballet dancer.

Dripping wet and a little muddy, after finally getting that 1 body point I needed, I walked into the house, to be greeted lovingly, by my wife.

I know she's affectionate, but not as bad as this.
When I asked her what was wrong, she could only reply with 'Nothing, just wanted to show you I love you, that's all."

But then, she suddenly turned a nasty shade of green and fair pelted up the stairs.
I could hear her retching in the toilet and wondered if my cooking wasn't up to scratch.

I know, for a surprise, I made some pancakes this morning for breakfast. And I'm sure the eggs and milk were fresh.

She'd barely had time to reach the bottom of the stairs, before she had to go back up again.
Oh well, bang goes my nice long soak in the bath.

She wasn't looking too well, so I suggested that she give herself a rest, and that I'd join her in a minute.

She happily agreed and by the time I'd rinsed off all that mud and stuff, I found her laid on top of the bed, reading. She looked so lovely, I had to reach across to her and give her a cuddle.

Just as I was starting to get a little 'romantic' with her, it was then that she dropped the news onto me

"Ambrose," she said softly.

"Mhm?"

"You know how, just recently, I've been feeling a little tired, and throwing up all the time?"

"I do hope you're not coming down with anything. I'd hate to see you being sick."

"Oh no, it's not like that. It's just that..... I'm...... pregnant."

Well, you could have run me over with a 20 ton truck.
Pregnant.
And on the first go too.
I am amazed

And proud too.

I'm going to be a dad.

I felt a rush of emotions. Joy, fear, pride, nervousness, you name it, I probably lived through it in one hour.

I kissed her passionately, then realised that that might have been a big mistake. So I tried to be as gentle as I could.

After all, she's carrying my baby. A little life, there in her tummy.

Well, shortly after that, she started to show. A nice little bump at the front. Providing everyone with the evidence that she's carrying our baby.

I promise faithfully, that I'll make sure her needs are taken care of. That she need never cook ever again and that she's well rested and happy.

Signing out (a happy dad)
Ambrose

Awww he is already the sweetest dad. What a lucky woman Ginny is, he dotes on her with so much love.

I can't wait for the big day, I wonder if they're gonna have a boy or girl. And what he/she will look like.
