First Love, First Date ..... First.... Everything Really

Okay, I shall reveal who my sweetheart is shall I?

Please don't be weirded out by this one, honestly, there's a valid explanation. I swear.
He said that he'd been put into suspended animation, just waiting for someone to release him from the bonds of Freshman Years here in college.

Yep, it's none other than my Dad's best buddy Dorian Long.
Remember him? The guy with the blond hair and bandanna?

Normally I'm not too keen on blond haired guys, but he's such a peach, really. I busted a move on him and he was well impressed.

We got on well, so well in fact that I skipped class (don't worry, I'm well ahead of everyone else in class) and went on a date at the Student Union building. I was so nervous, getting into that taxi, hoping that this would be a really nice date for me.

We danced close together, I even autonomously (thanks to ACR), kissed him up the arm.... well that's out of character for shy old me, and he loved it.

Whilst I was there, we suggested buying cell phones for one another so we could keep in contact all the time.

It was nice, being in his arms and all that physical closeness.

It was a 'first' for me, with my very First Kiss too.

Did I tell you he's a great kisser? Can't seem to get enough of those lips of his, honestly. They're so hot they'd melt metal. (just kidding.... no really).

I noticed that Lori our dorm cook had been drafted in to cover the cafeteria shift. Apparently there's been an outbreak of flu, and they're short staffed. What a trooper huh? Guess I'd better roll up my sleeves and help out sometime. It'll be a good way of building up my cooking skills anyway, they're pretty low to non-existent.

But, we're going off track here, our date went fantastically well. We played pillow fights, and Dorian just simply adored my back-rubs. In fact, he kept wanting them..... a LOT.

We had so much fun on this date, realizing so many wants, that it ended up as a 'dream date'.

Gosh, I love this guy.

He could do with a little make-over, but for now, the bandanna and ponytail remain.

He even brought a HUGE bunch of red roses to the dorm for me. Isn't that romantic of him?
I even found out that he's a Family Sim. All the better for me as I'm a Knowledge/Family combo. I think we'll do fine together.

You noticed that the title also said a First for Everything.

That's so true.

Whilst on our date, who should magically appear, but a Good Witch. I was delighted, and so was she. I can foresee good things in the future there.

I'm wondering if I get to be a Good Witch just like her? That'll be interesting.

Anyway, I invited Dorian back to the dorm, and, well, they were all so happy to see him that they clamoured to greet him and all wanted to chat.

Wow, I AM impressed.

But, it's been a long day. The desert sand gets everywhere, so, before I retire to bed, I'll have a nice long shower, and dream of our first of many dates, and just how far this relationship will go.

So bye for now and catch up with you all soon.

Take care

Helen

Settling In

Hi I'm back. Just to let you know, I've settled into college very well. Making friends and meeting new people.
I took Psychology as my Major. My Professors are Anthony Centowsky and Amanda Seavey. Dad was right. They ARE supportive.

I finally placed names with faces in my dorm.

Gerard Haggerty

Rebecca Wilkie

Trista Young

Patrick Gilscarbo

Amber Collen

Renee Creelman

Lindsay Micelli

Aiden Patch.

Many of them are camera shy and hate getting their pictures taken. But Aiden's quite cute really. He's kind of the 'live-wire' in the dorm. Always hogging the video machine and dancing to the stereo. I'm surprised he gets any studying done.

As you've probably noticed, there's a sudden trend in purple hair. That's thanks to Trista my makeover friend. She sort of .. ahem... got the recipe slightly wrong in her Hair and Beauty night classes. Not that anybody minds. They think it's cool and are attempting a new trend.

I'm better off with my blonde hair thanks.

Aiden doesn't like me.
Especially after I tried to throw food at him one day, just for fun. Guess I'd better reel in my 'fun' side around him.

I did say sorry and stuff.

And I've tried to patch things up by hanging out and playing toss football, but there just isn't a 'spark' there between us. Besides, he's the type that holds grudges.

See, told you. He's always shying away from me and telling me to back off. Maybe I'm being a little too intense for him.

Besides, he can be a little outspoken too. Loves to argue about a lot of topics all the time. We, my other dorm buddies and myself, have all decided to 'blank' him out when he's on one of his tirades. Makes life so much easier for us... I can tell you.

Oh Mom and Dad called today to tell us about the babies. Actually, I think it's mainly to check up on me, but they tell me to pass the message on that they're all doing fine. A little frazzled and constantly exhausted, but they're all good.

Just waiting for Tristan and Violet to get here now. That won't be for another year or so - provided they can cope with the babies that is. I know Tristan loves his privacy .... a LOT. Oh and poor Chloe. How is she going to cope with four toddlers pulling at her from all directions?

We're all a good bunch here. We all eat together, study together, let our hair down together.

Oh, I know Dad prewarned me about the Cow Mascot. Berjes Pong.

Yup, he paid us a little visit, just as Lori Perry our dorm cook was taking a well earned break and immediately, Berjes tried to hit on me.
Politely I refused.

After all.... I DO have a sweetheart.

*blushes*

Truly I do. You'll never guess who it is though.....

WOw, love really DOES find you in the most oddest of places.
But for now, I'll say bye bye and catch up with you soon.
It's almost finals time, so I'd better cram in as much studying as possible.

Halfway through my Freshman year already? Wow time does fly by.

Ta ta for now
Helen.

Ambrose's Diaries - Blog Entry #11 - The Freshman Years - Part Four

Well, here's the proverbial shot of me dragging my feet, not really looking forward to my finals (well who wouldn't?) and hoping that, in my Freshman year, I make the Dean's list and not go on probation.

I've studied well, even over-studied my skills too. Wrote a very impressive term paper (according to the professor) and handed my assignments in on time.

What else could I do?

The exams were scheduled at 2pm, and would last for about 3 hours, which was long enough for me.

I know the wait was interminable, trust me, I couldn't wait for it all to finish myself.
But it did, and, to sound extremely immature.....

YAY!!!!!

I passed with flying colours!!! Making the Dean's list and earning myself a grant of 1,200 Simoleans in the process. Enough to pay the rent, those pesky bills and get myself some more art equipment.

And how convenient too. Speaking of bills, the postman just happened to arrive, in time, to drop a handful of bills in the post box.

I was so excited about passing, that I had to call Mom and give her the good news.
I'm not very good at picking up 'vibes' but to be honest, I think she's sounding very tired lately. But she insisted that I continue my studies anyway and not worry about her at all.

Dad got on the phone and had a chat too. He desperately wanted to clear the air between us, and suggested going for a hike. I'm afraid I had to put him off for a while due to a brand new term starting. But I told him I'd do it as soon as I had some spare time. He sounded disappointed, but he said he understood.

I must admit that Professor Sharlene is a very sweet, kind and helpful person.

She came to congratulate me on making the Dean's list. So while she was there, I asked for extra tuition and she happily obliged, telling me that she thought I was one of the best students she's had this semester.

We chatted a while, and I asked her a few questions.

It appears that she likes to travel, loves flowers and gardening and is especially fond of sports.

She especially likes to limber up on a morning, and was doing so when I went out to greet her.
She's a Pisces, with a turn on of Formal Wear and a turn off of Grey Hair.

We played chess, hung out a bit. She even made a point of meeting some of my dorm buddies.

She was particularly impressed with Dorian and his chess skills (don't worry, our secret is safe).
She did, however, tell me that it's going to get tougher as time goes on and I've really got to work hard.

And that was so true.

I discovered, for this semester, I've got to work on my body skills and my charisma skills. Especially when this semester, I've got to do nude pictures.

So I decided to give them a go.

Charisma, for me, is the most difficult skill to perfect, as I'm particularly shy amongst people. But, I've noticed how 'at ease' I am with everyone here on campus. I don't feel intimidated at all, as I realise that most folks are in the same boat as me.

We're all here to study and graduate, just so that we can all have a boost up the corporate ladder, well ahead of everyone else.

But I have to tell you, body skills are a total pain.

Especially when the college coach catches you unawares.

Man, I've just had a really strenuous workout, what more do you want from me??
I know the old adage, 'no pain, no gain', but honestly, there's no need to scream orders at me especially when I'm just paying the bills.

Everybody blames the cook, with her 'unhealthy' choice of meals on the menu (pancakes, omelettes, mac and cheese, chilli). But I'll stick up for her, given her age, I think she works far too hard. She arrives in the dorm about 4.30am and doesn't leave until about midnight or just afterwards. She's on her feet all day, without a single break.

And the stuff she has to put up with too.

........... annoying mascots.............

...........streakers................

Cleaning up everyone's mess (except mine)

Speaking of annoying things......

I've discovered a few annoying habits from some of my dorm buddies.
Especially Lila.

If it's not whistling inane little tunes randomly, it's playing with a puzzle game

Tiffany, however, beats them all.

I swear, she's just cruising through college, really.

I caught her the other day, her nose in a book, pretending to be studying, when in fact, hidden between the pages, was a really naughty novel she's sneaked in.

Sheesh, I really don't know what's going to happen to her.
She'll probably get a job thanks to a back hander from her mega rich daddy.
She appears that type.

At least she's managed to get out of that horrid kimono outfit.
Only because the nights are cutting in and we're having to wear our winter woollies when we go to class.

Ah, the joys of college life.

There's never a dull moment.

I'll catch up with you all later, hopefully by then, I'll have reached my Sophomore Year

Signing out

Ambrose
