Violet Versus the Babysitter

The rather smart looking car pulls up and my first thoughts were SOCIAL WORKER!!! *blinks* but nope, that's far too early in game. Besides, Helen had already organised a babysitter to keep a close eye on her kid sister.

A timid knock on the door, feet shuffling, a soft cough.

And VOILA!!!!
Ohhhhh, he's a CUTIE!!!! (wonders about pairing him up with one of my Sims in the future)

His name is ....

... please don't laugh, the game picked this, not me .....

Elmer Timmons!!!

Oh that poor unfortunate kid. *coughdurnyouEAcough*

Anyways, he walks in and immediately goes straight for the leftover birthday cake that was sitting on the table out in the garden.

However, it seems that he found himself up against the Sculpture Gnome, who at that particular point in time, decided to park it's stony body, right smack dab in the centre of the garden table. Preventing Elmer from sitting down and enjoying that overly sugary treat!!

In the meantime, Violet was acting like a good little girl. Going for a bath, or rather a 'submarine adventure' and keeping out of the way of Elmer.

But don't be fooled.
She was plotting.
BIG TIME

After furtively glancing around to see where Elmer was, she sneaked up into the treehouse to plot some more.

Snickering to herself, she called down to Elmer and lay in wait, bucket of water hidden from view.

However, her plans were thwarted, since Helen arrived just in time from school and paid Elmer for his services before sending him back home.

Foiled again!!!!

Babysitter!!!!

Although it was a great tug, Ginny realised that her maternity leave was due to mature. She could have asked for an extension to her leave, but decided not to. If she kept doing that, she'd never leave the house. Besides, Helen needed to mingle with other Sims.

So, reluctantly, she called the babysitting services to see if they had anybody spare. Cheerfully, they told her that they had a really sweet kid .... KID???? That put shivers down Virginia's spine. They were sending out a KID???? To look after their daughter????

"Oh I can assure you," the woman at the agency replied happily, "that Sammie is a great asset to your family. His credentials are exceptional, and everyone has recommended him highly. I'm pretty sure your daughter will bond with him in next to no time."

"But, he's a teenager," Helen protested, "won't that mean he'll be skipping school?"

"I can understand your fears there Mrs Graystone, but you don't have to worry. All our teenage babysitters still have to continue their education. We've had an agreement with the schools to give them a study pack whilst they're looking after babies, toddlers and children. It's a stipulation we adhere to very strictly."

Virginia still wasn't convinced, but she reluctantly agreed, as she realised she had no choice in the matter. They couldn't very well leave Helen all alone in the house. That would be bad parenting and would alert the Social Worker. However, this didn't stop Virginia from worrying. She was up most of the night, laid awake, wondering if she'd done the right thing. So the very next day, she was beyond exhausted and HAD to call in a favour at work after all.

So, bright and early, the next day, whilst Ambrose was making his way to his new job this time - all thanks to that incident outside the Bistro. Word had gotten out that he'd dealt with the situation calmly and professionally, and he'd been offered the position of Paramedic.

Who should arrive at the front door than Sammie O'Leary, bright and cheerful and ready to start work.

He zoomed off in the direction of Helen's nursery, where he stood a little while and watched whilst she slept.

"Hey there cutie!" he said quietly.

Helen awoke, rubbed her eyes and looked up at this new smiling face. Without hesitation, he scooped her up in his arms.

"And what are we going to be up to today?" he asked. Helen just beamed, loving the attention.

"Wanna play CLAW?"

Virginia needn't have worried, Helen was in safe hands as she and Sammie bonded almost immediately.

Oh yeah, he's a keeper alright. Hmm, I know he's too old for her now, but maybe... just maybe, in the future???? Perhaps?????
