A Short Visit, and Married Life

True to her word, Jolene made arrangements to pay a visit to Riverview. Ginny, all excited, met her at the bistro, which was exceptionally busy that particular day, with locals, tourists and newcomers alike.




Sadly, it was the briefest of visits, as Jolene started getting some undue attention from local lothario ..... Don Lothario. His eyes were bugging out at the prospects of some 'new blood'. It seems that move of his STILL hasn't curtailed his womanizing ways after all.




Jolene, feeling uncomfortable in his presence, made her excuses before heading off. It was a great pity that they couldn't spend any more time together, but, both women realised that the longer Jolene stayed there, the more chance Don had of hitting on her. And she felt exceptionally loyal to her BFF Gustave.

Undeterred, Ginny made her way home, to her special little garden.




Where she spent a bit of time talking to her plants, tending to them, watering, feeding and weeding. In her underwear!!! Guess that cuts down on the laundry side of things!!!




And it seems that this actually worked as the little apple sapling, sprouted up overnight!!!!




With the little extra money, Ambrose indulged himself (again) of an antique telescope that he couldn't wait to try out. So, whilst he waited for the sun to go down, he decided to rest and relax and ponder at how well life was treating the two of them.



In the meantime, Ginny was getting some rather peculiar cravings....

.... for watermelon pancakes!!!!



and a few times, she found herself making very best friends with Mr Porcelain himself.

This Family Is CURSED

It never rains but it pours for this poor unfortunate family.

Mind you, I did install Town Life, and apparently that's full of bugs and stuff, so I shouldn't really be surprised. Yes, I was one of those unfortunate (and pathetically blinkered) people who believed that they were immune to the glitches of a new expansion/stuff pack.

I decided, after a long spell of not playing, to bring Ambrose and Ginny home from their honeymoon, so I clicked onto them to return.

Firstly, it took ages for the airport transfer bus to turn up (not that I actually SAW it, all I saw were buildings that had been stripped of their outer mesh, leaving blank squares etc behind.

Then, usually the loading screen has some music whilst the town - Riverview in this case - loads in. It stopped barely 2 minutes into loading, when the green bar was literally at about 1 cm.

When the game finally loaded in, a good 20-30 mins later, I got the town view and not the view of the active household. When I clicked onto 'select household' they'd GONE.

Great.

So I quit without saving, hoping that the next time I decide to play, they'll still be in Champs Le Sims.

So, for now, let's just say they're having fun on and extended honeymoon.

Settling In

Although Ginny proclaims that she's a useless cook and would burn water, given the chance, she's recently discovered a talent she never knew existed.

Interior design.

Plus, the knack for stretching the budget slightly too.

This is plainly evident when she tackled the front room.
Sparse and uninviting, she managed to grab some fabric from a sale nearby, and rather than throw out/sell the hideous chairs, she set about recovering them. She also discovered some matching wallpaper and used that to cover over those yucky grey walls.

As there wasn't quite enough fabric for the curtains, she had to improvise slightly, and, with a few tweaks here and there....

Ta daaa!!!

Doesn't he look 'at home' now? Methinks that Ginny has a great opportunity to be an Interior Designer. Provided she applies herself that is. For now, she wishes to join the Police Force. I'm pretty sure Ambrose will talk her out of that one.



The two of them tackled the kitchen. Ripping up the floor and retiling it, retiling the walls and removing those really horrendous mosaic worktops and adding some black granite ones instead. With a few little 'touches' here and there, it's starting to look like a real home for them now.




They kept to their budget as much as possible, but, the burglar alarm took a great big chunk out of their savings. So any thoughts and ideas on redecorating the rest of the house will just have to wait until either one or both of them get a job.

Speaking of which, whilst Ginny struggled to make her 'world famous' waffles (and trying her hardest not to burn them in the process).....




... Ambrose sat outside in their garden and took the opportunity to search the papers for a job.



His Lifetime Wish was to be a surgeon, so he hoped that there was a slot for him at the hospital.
And luckily for him, there was. Although it wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind.

Let's hope he doesn't donate any 'valuable' organs here.

They're BAAAACK!!!!!

After much deliberation, nail chewing and other disgusting habits, that shall remain nameless, I decided to recreate Ambrose and Ginny in Sims 3 and move them to Riverview where they'll live out their pixellated lives together.

Hopefully they'll procreate Helen, etc. But I highly doubt they'll recreate the alien twins (unless Ambrose is unfaithful).

So, without further ado, let me introduce Ambrose Graystone and his girlfriend Virginia Medlar as they start off life together. They're not engaged, just living together for now.

And wonder they may, for as soon as they walked into the place, they were bombarded by the most hideous array rooms. All of them decorated - it appears - by someone who was colour blind and had a bizarre fascination for patterned contact paper (sticky backed plastic to folks in the UK).








Plus, they'd pulled all their money out to buy this property, as it was in a lovely location, near to the river. And had a very limited budget to work on after that. So it seems that the two of them will have to find jobs .... pronto, so they can fix this place up to suit their own styles and needs.

And so begins Ambrose and Ginny's NEW adventures here in Riverview.
